Description

This wine is aged for 6 months in 35% new French oak barrels with a medium toast level, which adds a subtle vanilla touch to the wine without overpowering the rich fruit. The careful selection and blending of the grapes result in a wine that displays a variety of dark berry flavours, such as black cherry and strawberry. The wine also has spice notes and a long finish of vanilla from the oak ageing and smooth, firm tannins that add complexity to the wine.

It pairs well with charcuterie, gumbo or grilled steak.

Lodi

Lodi, located in California’s Central Valley, is a significant wine region known for its diverse and high-quality wine production. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, which provides ideal conditions for viticulture. The area is particularly renowned for its Zinfandel, which thrives in the region’s old, gnarled vineyards and produces wines with rich, jammy fruit flavours and peppery notes. The region also excels in other varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chenin Blanc, known for their depth and complexity.
