Description

Doja is a family-owned winery going back to 1985. Their vineyard are at elevations of 430-470m, facing south and south-west. Surrounding mountains of Jastrebac, Radan, Pasjaca, Sokolovica, Vidojevica and Kopaonik form a natural amphitheatre protecting the vineyards from the cold and humidity. A resultant microclimate give a growing-season diurnal temperature range of 30°C in the day to 15°Cat night - ideal conditions for the accumulation of phenolic compounds in the grapes.

The Prokupac variety is an autochthonous Serbian variety whose first written data date back to the 14th century. It gives a wine of wonderful body and richness, deep dark fruit and with distinct mineral notes.Doja Prokupac is the first wine from Serbia to win the BIWC trophy award for the best red wine from the indigenous variety in the Balkans.
