Description

Vinified using 100% whole bunches, this wine underwent a brief maceration and a gentle pressing to preserve freshness and finesse. The resulting style is light-bodied, bright, and remarkably digestible – what the French describe as digeste. It exhibits a refined, vegetal lift, characteristic of the finest reds from the Loire. Best enjoyed slightly chilled, it serves equally well as an apéritif or with lighter fare.

Domaine Paul Prieur et Fils

The Prieurs come from a long line of wine growers. The newest member of the family to take charge of the winemaking is the youthful and enthusiastic Luc Prieur, who completed his studies at Lycée Viticole in Beaune. The Burgundian philosophy is felt in their wines, with a respect for individual vineyard plots, producing cuvées based on their terroirs.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley in France is a prestigious wine region renowned for its diverse wines and picturesque landscapes. Stretching along the Loire River, it benefits from a varied climate and a range of soil types, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its white wines, including the crisp and mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and the aromatic Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur. The area also produces excellent reds, such as the light and fruity Cabernet Franc from Chinon and Bourgueil. Rosé and sparkling wines, like Crémant de Loire, add to the diversity of the region. With its rich winemaking heritage, varied terroirs, and high-quality wines, the Loire Valley offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts seeking both classic and innovative wines.
