This generous Southern Rhône blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 25% old-vine Carignan is brimming with dark fruit and warming spice, finishing long with beautifully balanced alcohol. It’s a natural partner for hearty dishes such as beef or sausage casserole, grilled steak or rack of lamb. The wine comes from Domaine Roche’s 25 hectares of vineyards around the village of Cairanne, where 50-year-old vines grow in clay-limestone soils. Although one of the youngest winemakers in the appellation, Romain Roche continues a long family tradition of winegrowing, farming vineyards on the rocky plains bordering Rasteau and Plan de Dieu.
