Description

Characterful Riesling from the steeply sloping vineyards of the middle Nahe region. The vines grow in stony, weathered volcanic soils mainly composed of porphyry and melaphyr, with some slate and quartzite.

An off-dry Riesling wine, very typical of Dönnhoff's wine estate. Wonderfully fresh and well defined, elegant with a tingling minerality. A delicious wine for every day with moderate alcohol, subtle fruit sweetness and soothing acidity.

"Just bottled with 10% stated alcohol, the off-dry 2024 Riesling VDP.Gutswein opens with an irresistible bright and aromatic as well as flinty/mineral nose with notes of crushed rocks and ripe yellow stone fruits (plums, apricots). Round, lush and lively on the palate due to the carbon dioxide fermentation byproduct, this is a pleasant, mood-lifting Nahe Riesling with remarkable lightness and finesse and super charming, textural fruit.
