Description

Rudolf Fürst is best known for Spätburgunder, but this Franken dry Riesling shows the same precise, restrained touch. Grown on the estate's weathered red sandstone soils around Bürgstadt, it's fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep the focus purely on site character, hence "Pur Mineral". Expect a taut, citrus and orchard fruit profile with a distinct stony, savoury edge and bracing acidity. Pure, linear and refreshingly austere.

Weingut Rudolf Furst

Franconian family Fürst can document their history as winegrowers back to 1638. When Paul and Monika Fürst took over the winery in 1979, they built today’s estate buildings on the outskirts of the village. They renovated and re-cultivated the particularly beautiful, steep parcels in the best sites. They gradually expanded the vineyard area to the current 21 hectare. Their goal was to learn about and produce great Spätburgunder in a time before it was popular in Germany.

Franken

Franken, a distinctive wine region in northern Bavaria, Germany, is renowned for its unique wines and historic traditions. It benefits from a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters, as well as varied soils, including limestone and clay, ideal for viticulture. The area is particularly famous for its Silvaner, which produces wines with crisp acidity, earthy minerality, and subtle fruit flavors. It also excels in producing Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, and Riesling, known for their aromatic and refreshing qualities. Franken's wines are often bottled in the traditional Bocksbeutel, a flat, round bottle. With its blend of unique terroir, traditional winemaking techniques, and characteristic bottle shape, Franken offers a captivating wine experience for anyone seeking high-quality and intrigue.
