Kavalan chose Yilan as the site for its distillery due to its abundant supply of pure spring water which flows through the Snow Mountain. Water is essential to whisky production and the character of this water ensures Kavalan’s Single Malt Whisky is fresh and clean with a silky smoothness.
Rich and sweet, with floral and fruity notes. Ripe mango, apple and gently sour grapes are joined by gently spirituous notes and soft spice.
Creamy vanilla and butter lead on the palate, with cinnamon-spiced sponge cake dressed with light lemon cream behind. The fruitiness from the nose develops in the glass, with mango and sweet red apple notes appearing.
