Description

A delicious natural wine from Martha Stoumen in Mendocino, California. Made from a blend of Zinfandel and Carignan. Notes of ripe blackberry and dried plum balance more herbaceous characteristics of pine and rosemary; still a fruit-forward, approachable wine that will become a fast friend; a buoyant wine that will lift up your pallet rather than weight it down.

Martha Stoumen

In 2014, Martha Stoumen Wines was born, focusing on lesser-known grape varieties and regions within California. Martha works with a carefully selected group of growers who practice organic or regenerative farming, often sourcing fruit from old, dry-farmed vineyards. Martha’s winemaking philosophy is centred on minimal intervention. She allows fermentation to occur spontaneously with native yeasts and avoids unnecessary additives, including new oak, which she uses sparingly to let the fruit and terroir speak clearly. Her wines are often bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulphur, resulting in wines that are alive, vibrant, and reflective of their origins.
