Description

"The 2019 Iubileus comes from Malbec from a plot planted in 2013 on limestone-rich soils with some 40 centimeters of soil, worked organically since it was planted but not certified. It fermented in used rolling barrels with indigenous yeasts, with a maceration of 30 days and matured in used barriques for 16 months. It has moderate ripeness, 14% alcohol and good freshness and acidity, coming through as balanced, harmonious and juicy, with some earthiness, fine, chalky tannins and a long, persistent finish. 1,380 bottles were filled in November 2020.

2019 vintage, cold and dry, was extraordinary, and we think it has been the best in the last three decades, at least in the entire Uco Valley. The wines stand out for their candid expression, finesse and transparency, as well as for their tension, energy and depth."

PerSe

PerSe is the personal project of Edgardo (Edy) del Popolo and David Bonomi, pioneers in Argentine wine. David, an expert oenologist, has extensive experience across the Uco Valley, while Edy, who grew up in a vineyard-owning family, studied oenology and agronomy. After a successful career at Doña Paula, he and David founded PerSe in 2012. Their boutique venture focuses on crafting wines that transparently express their origins, choosing Gualtallary in the Uco Valley for its cool climate and complex soils. They’ve planted a vineyard at 1,500 metres, producing exceptional wines that balance quality and drinkability, even in their youth.

Mendoza

Mendoza, Argentina's most renowned wine region, is synonymous with exceptional winemaking and world-class wines. Nestled at the foothills of the Andes, Mendoza's high-altitude vineyards benefit from abundant sunshine, cool nights, and minimal rainfall, creating perfect conditions for grape cultivation. The area is particularly famous for its Malbec, offering rich, full-bodied wines with dark fruit flavours and a velvety texture. It also excels in producing excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Torrontés. The diverse terroir, with its variety of soils and microclimates, imparts a unique character to its wines. Mendoza remains a must-visit destination for wine lovers seeking outstanding and memorable wines.
