Tasting note

The nose shows beautiful spice alongside aromas of ripe pear, wild strawberry and fresh tropical fruit, with a delicate hint of nuttiness. On the palate, subtle citrus notes are supported by gentle tannic grip and an appealing texture. This copper-hued Pinot Grigio Ramato comes from one of the estate’s most prized plots high on Mount San Biagio. Carefully selected grapes undergo five days of cryomaceration, extracting phenolic compounds that give the wine its distinctive colour and character.

“Ramato”, meaning copper in Italian, refers to the traditional style of Pinot Grigio made with brief skin contact, resulting in its delicate pink-orange hue. A versatile wine that pairs beautifully with Mediterranean cuisine and white meats such as pork fillet.

Their success began when they rediscovered the noble ancient vine of Friuli, the Picolit. They were the first to select and cultivate it on the Colli Orientali and the first to introduce it to the rest of the world. Perusini strive to grow their vineyards as sustainably as possible by focussing on organic principles.
