Inspired by the dry Pinot Gris styles of Alsace, the 'Beurre Bosc' takes its name from the pear orchard that was repurposed for vines when Pike & Joyce was established. Their site in the Lenswood subregion of the Adelaide Hills has proven ideally suited to the variety, and this release marks their 21st consecutive vintage.
Nashi pear and red apple lead on the nose, threaded with a fine mineral note. A slightly lower-yielding vintage has given excellent concentration of flavour, while a small portion fermented in barrel adds texture and complexity. Medium-bodied, it finishes super-crisp and mouth-watering, leaving you reaching for the next sip.
A natural match for a caramelised onion and blue cheese tart.
