Hailing from the Tikveš region of North Macedonia, a hidden jewel in European winemaking, this wine is a testament to the area’s rich viticultural history and ideal grape-growing climate.
The Tikveš Winery, with its narrative rooted in 1885, presents a pale lemon-hued wine that is a blend of 85% Smederevka, the region’s indigenous white grape, and 15% Riesling. The vineyards, perched on hillside slopes with an easterly aspect, are sustainably managed, ensuring concentrated flavours through green harvesting.
The grapes, handpicked at peak maturity, are meticulously sorted and vinified separately in stainless steel tanks, preserving the fruit’s integrity.
This wine offers a bouquet of tropical and stone fruits, laced with a lively citrus zest. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with a crisp and refreshing profile leading to a clean, vibrant finish. A true reflection of its origin, this wine encapsulates the synergy of soil, sun, and sustainable practices.
