Description

Villa Matilde Stregamora is a vibrant red wine made from 100% Piedirosso, a native grape variety of Campania, lovingly cultivated on volcanic soils. This historic winery has dedicated over half a century to restoring the region's ancient varietals and reintroducing them to the world.

In the glass, Stregamora shows delicate violet hues. The nose is fragrant and expressive, with aromas of red berries lifted by floral notes of rose and violet. On the palate, it's soft and velvety, with a gentle structure and a smooth, medium finish.

Pair with tomato-based pasta dishes, white meats, poultry, grilled fish, or medium-aged cheeses.

These wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and reflection of the unique Campanian terroir.

Campania

Campania, a region in southern Italy known for its rich cultural and historical heritage, is celebrated for its diverse and high-quality wines. It benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate and varied soils, including volcanic, which contribute to its unique terroirs. The area is particularly famous for its robust reds, such as Taurasi, made from the Aglianico grape, offering deep, complex flavours with notes of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. It also excels in whites, notably from the Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo grapes, which produce aromatic wines with crisp acidity, floral notes, and minerality. With a blend of traditional winemaking practices and modern innovation, Campania offers a rich and captivating wine experience.
