Tasting note

Condrieu “Chery” offers a luxurious and aromatic profile. The nose reveals captivating aromas of apricot, peach, and pear, intertwined with floral notes of honeysuckle and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, featuring flavours of ripe stone fruits, honey, and a touch of vanilla, balanced by a lively acidity. The finish is long and velvety, with lingering impressions of fruit and delicate floral nuances.

André Perret’s passion for vines made the biology graduate return to the village of Verlieu-Chavanay, where he succeeded his father in 1982. The farmland situated on the right bank of the river Rhône, then mainly occupied by fruit trees, was replanted with vine stocks and extended to 13 hectares. Perret’s exemplary Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and varietal wines have flavours and aromas expressing the exceptional growing conditions of the vines and the meticulous attention given to the making of the wine.

Characterised by its steep, terraced vineyards along the Rhône River, it benefits from a continental climate with hot summers and cold winters, ideal for viticulture. The Northern Rhône is particularly renowned for its powerful and elegant red wines from Syrah, notably from appellations like Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and Cornas. It also produces exquisite white wines from Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne, especially in Condrieu and Saint-Joseph. The unique terroir, combined with traditional winemaking techniques, imparts distinctive flavours and complexity to the wines. Delivery is free on orders over £120. Otherwise, standard delivery is £6.95 and usually arrives within 48 hours, excluding weekends. You can request a delivery date during checkout using the notes section.
