Tasting note

Synthesis Sophenia encompasses the best wines from the estate at Tupungato. Iconic wines of great concentration and elegant flavours. A blend of of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc: single vineyards varietals. Considered one of the best Argentine cult wines.

Harvest exclusively by hand at the beginning of April. Grape cluster selection (sorting table) 100% of the wine aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months.

Deep and intense ruby red colour with violet dyes. Intense, great aromatic expressions. Concentrated floral notes- violets, roses- and black pepper, combined with ripe red fruits like plum and blackberry. Its’ ageing in French oak confers elegant flavours of smoke and tobacco, melted with chocolate notes. In the mouth it starts sweet and generous, giving way to a complete and concentrated palate with a long fruity elegant finish.

Established in 1997 Finca Sophenia is recognised as one of the top wine producers in Argentina.  Winery founder Roberto Luka specifically chose Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mendoza - one of the most prestigious winegrowing regions in Argentina - to craft the country’s highest quality wines. The result was absolutely gratifying, and the wines have since been universally praised by critics and publications across the world. The name of the estate is an amalgamation of his daughters names Sophia and Eugenia.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

Delivery is free on orders over £120. Otherwise, standard delivery is £6.95 and usually arrives within 48 hours, excluding weekends. You can request a delivery date during checkout using the notes section.
